Defence Media resumes UK filming after COVID pause

Reading, UK, 01 June 2020 — Specialist content agency Defence Media has resumed UK-based filming and photography for clients, after a pause in operations due to travel and work restrictions put in place by the UK government.

The decision to resume on-site filming and photography has coincided with the UK government’s easing of COVID lockdown measures, and specifically the advice to return to work where possible. While Defence Media staff usually work remotely and can provide a range of content that can be generated from a home office, it is not possible to do this with filming and photography.

Defence Media has already worked with a major aerospace and defence client to carry out on-site filming since lockdown measures began to be eased. The company worked with CAE at its Medium Support Helicopter Aircrew Training Facility at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire.

When filming with clients, Defence Media is closely following government guidelines and implementing measures that ensure the safety of both staff and clients. Staff do not use public transport and wear masks when needed; social distancing is also strictly adhered to.

Our “light footprint” filming model means we only require two crew members to carry out filming or photography, which makes social distancing easier and reduces issues concerning overcrowding in small spaces.

“Of course, our priority is always the safety of our staff and clients, and we are closely following UK government guidelines to ensure this,” he added.

Defence Media will also be in a position to resume international operations once travel restrictions are lifted in Europe and elsewhere.
