Defence Media has signed the Women in Defence Charter, signifying its commitment to enhance gender balance in its own organisation as well as actively promote this important agenda across the defence enterprise via various initiatives.

Within Defence Media, women are represented both at a senior level (the agency’s co-founder and director is female) as well as through employees and external contractors, with a high percentage of these also women.

The Charter is a key document that represents a commitment to drive inclusion and diversity within organisations and provide fair opportunities to women at all levels, including progression into senior roles in the defence sector.

Defence Media will ensure that a member of the senior executive team will be responsible for gender inclusion and diversity, as well as setting and publishing data that supports our commitment to gender balance. The team will also look to support Women in Defence in other ways where it can.

Beth Stevenson, Director, Defence Media Ltd., said: “We’re incredibly pleased to sign the Women in Defence Charter. I passionately believe in gender balance, and every person, company, organisation, and government has a part to play in moving towards the important target of achieving gender equity.

“In the defence sector, where we are actively involved on a daily basis, this involves concrete actions by individuals and companies, but also more conversation, and signing the Charter is a way that we can be part of that conversation.”
